WAISTED

modern detail 2.jpg

An exploration of modern femininity through corsets. Corsets historically were used to oppress women as they were a symbol of social and beauty standards that restricted a woman's body, mobility, and health.
This collection aims to reclaim the corset for women, turning it into something that evokes confidence and beauty in the wearer.

Designs inspired by individual centuries of corsets: 16th, 17th, 18th, 19th, and modern day. Details reference trimmings and shapes of each century. Made of satin silk, tulle, and gold hardware and 3D printed hardware.
